Hello there, pack mates!

You’re probably still recovering from the festive blues, but we’re back with our third edition of the Bamboo Papers to help chase those blues away.

For this purpose, we’re highlighting one of the biggest names in blues, not only in the remote eastern frontiers of the country, but across all of India. She’s been captivating audiences worldwide with her legendary band for over two decades. The voice that truly embodies the soul of the blues, it’s none other than Tipriti Kharbangar, a.k.a, Lil Mama Tips

Lil Mama Tips has been the front(wo)man of the acclaimed blues project from Shillong, “Soulmate”, and one of its’s founding members along with the master virtuoso, Mr. Rudy Wallang himself. Ever since its’ inception, Soulmate has earned humble plaudits from all over the world. And without a doubt for anyone who has witnessed their performance live, the powerful yet highly erudite vocals of Lil Mama Tips accompanied by the sweet music coming out of Rudy Wallang’s guitar, gets imprinted onto the sub-conscious of one’s musical mind.

Now, being well-established in the music industry, both, Tips and Wallang have decided to put their acclaimed band on hold for the moment. And have decided to tie up with young artists and talents to give them a platform to develop, and also at the same time to develop and evolve their own sound.

Both of them have been touring the country with their respective bands. Tips with her band which is aptly named, Mama Tips and the Mama’s Boys. Fresh out of their performance at the Mahindra Independence Rock 2023, you can catch them performing at a venue near you. Watch out their Instagram page for such updates.
